Counseling

The mission of the Thurgood Marshall Middle School Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate program to enhance our students’ academic, personal/social, and career goals in preparation for high school and beyond. Marshall counselors will work collaboratively with parents/guardians, school staff, and community members to provide a safe and nurturing learning environment where all students regardless of gender, race, and/or religious beliefs will feel a sense of belonging and connectedness. Our goal is to help students develop the necessary skills, knowledge, and understanding to become successful, productive citizens in our diverse and changing world.

Our vision is to have all students promoted from middle school empowered with the knowledge and skills necessary to become globally-minded, compassionate, lifelong learners. It is our belief that every student will succeed through the collaborative efforts of school, home, and community resulting in respectful, productive, and contributing members of society.
